So the Sky Blues
move into the two week break still top of the Championship after a
hard fought game at the Ricoh. Coventry went a goal behind after 15
minutes when Patrick Agyemang scored after a woeful clearance from
Dimi Konstantopoulos, who's distribution was lacking all game, was
headed forward catching out Marcus Hall and leaving him attempting
to play catch up with Agyemang. The talk before the game of Preston
North End being our bogey team and we never win on Sky was being re
run before our eyes and the shocked home fans were getting restless.
As half time approached some of the home supporters were ejected
from the Jewson end for allegedly, smoking, throwing coins at the
PNE fans and generally being rowdy.
Once again, our
fitness in the second half showed and with 10 minutes left, courtesy
of a quick turn and strike by Adebola Coventry were level. 5 minutes
later Doyle produced a wonder strike to seal the game. At the final
whistle we witnessed some idiot dancing on the pitch but the Sky
Blues were back on top of the Championship.
But what of our
other league? It seems there's no stopping us moving up the hooligan
league. Not for the first time in recent years have a small section
of our so called fans brought shame to us and our club. Attacking
coaches with women and children on board is an absolute despicable
act in any normal persons book and with the F.A now looking into the
reported incidents it could cost the club dear.
Some questions that need answering are:
Why were these troublemakers ejected from the ground and left to
congregate outside the ground near the coaches and where the away
fans would be leaving the ground?
Once it became
clear that these troublemakers were congregating outside why were
the Police not called and informed of the situation?
What part did the
stewarding play in this? (there are many reports that the stewards
were heavy handed and were ejecting fans for celebrating our goals)
ALL football fans
should be safe to support their team anything else is unacceptable! |
