Coventry city have
today announced that their pre-season friendly with Italian and European
giants Juventus has been cancelled. The cause of this isn't stated on
the club website or in local media but we can speculate that it could
possibly be that Juventus were not to receive a big enough amount of
money that they would have liked to. The good news is that another
friendly against RCD Espanyol has been prompty announced in place. This
will take place at exactly the same time as the Juventus game would
have. RCD Espanyol reached the final of the EUFA cup last season at
Hampden park only to be defeated by fellow countrymen Sevilla.
If I'm honest I don't
think I know anybody who will be too disappointed by this news as
pre-season friendlies are nothing to get excited about, it's the big
kick off we're all looking forward to. And if Juventus did want more
money then I'm sure we would all prefer that money to be put towards
buying a key player that would help our promotion push rather than it go
into the ever increased bank accounts of the a big club.
The revised
pre-season fixture list is below. The West Terrace fanzine possé massiv'
will be going to the Northampton Town match, so see you there, you can
buy us all a pint.
